Tanya Everett is an everywoman, with a wide range! Her favorite parts are those of protagonists who are surprising, messy, and quirky. She’s auditioned for  everything from a sociopath to a devoted mother. She loves period dramas such as Bridgeton, and character driven dramas like I May Destroy You and You.

As an actor, she has worked with her mentor and friend, the late Ron Cephas Jones (This Is Us), J.D. Williams (The Wire), Russell G. Jones (Only Murders In the Building), among others. She is represented by Malissa Young Management. She was featured in the indie film A Wounded Fawn which premiered at TRIBECA and at film festivals all over the world in 2022.

She wrote and performed Thousand Miles, which was nominated for a Drama League Award in 2021. She has starred and produced the short film, Without Scars, available on Amazon Prime. She starred in the short One Sweet Night,  opposite  J.D. Williams (Bodie on The Wire). She received a rave review in the NY Times for her gender-flipped performance as Antonia, opposite Ron Cephas Jones in Shakespeare’s Tempest at the Classical Theater of Harlem.

The Artistry of
TANYA EVERETT

"...Tanya Everett [imbues] Prospero's usurping sister - in this version he has a sister, Antonia, not a brother, Antonio - with some ferocity."

“This question, and others, arise and are deftly explored throughout the play. Thoroughly impressed and moved by Everett’s work, I’m grateful I had the opportunity to interview her in late May for The Cincinnati Review:”

"The supporting cast is generally strong, featuring a number of effective couplings: Tanya Everett and Ryan Alvarado scheme believably as Antonia (Antonio in the original text) and Sebastian..."
